EIC Engineer
Position Summary:
Purpose:
Participate and lead in the identification, evaluation and execution of EIC improvement opportunities to improve process safety and profitability
Review strategies to operate and maintain our EIC Equipment and infrastructure, and to analyze and continuously improve performance through collaboration between suppliers and the Operation team.
Reports to: Reliability Manager - Waggaman
Core Accountabilities
Ensuring that appropriate standards are in place to meet current applicable Acts and Regulations for Electrical Safety, Functional Safety, Hazardous Area, Machine Safety and other related areas for the manufacturing facilities.
Provide business leadership on EI&C Safety issues and improvements.
Ensuring that all EI&C critical assets have effective Reliability and Capability Life Plans and world class maintenance strategies. Input into the rigorous EI&C Critical Reliability and Root Cause processes.
Input into strategic planning and application of resources and fund allocation.
Applying the EI&C Global Maintenance and Engineering standards, specifications and guides to prevent asset integrity being compromised leading to unsafe and or unstable plant control.
Reviewing and actively participating in Significant Plant Failures investigations and providing lessons learned across the business.
Reviewing and actively participating in Significant EI&C HSE investigations and providing lessons learned across the business.
Reviewing and actively participating in Site Risk Registers.
Development of effective optimization strategies including process control improvements, plant control loop optimization, advanced and or predictive control, alarm management and energy efficiency.
Define improvement projects (related to EI&C) that can be delivered outside turnarounds with the Capital Execution Manager.
Involvement within the training and development requirements of Site EI&C personnel and critical role management.
Active involvement in the EI&C Safety and Reliability network.
Collaboration in effective identification and scoping of EI&C requirements. Execution of R&I role during turnarounds including de-commissioning and re-commissioning. Tactical response to address equipment deficiencies in an effective and timely manner. Applying oversight to work execution to standards compliance.
Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.
Supports BEx initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility.
Decision Making Authority:
Budget ? Expenditure within budgetary restraints
Risk Management: collaborate and approve site Risk Assessment EIC content and ranking
Personnel management
Regular, visible presence in the plant
Influence cultural change within plant to drive reliability improvement program
Major Challenges:
Working collaboratively with & influencing plant managers, operations superintendents, and maintenance superintendents to actively support & maintain high levels of EIC reliability.
Disparity of systems & work practices in place within the plant
Technical Competencies
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance and/or engineering of a chemical manufacturing plant or similar heavy industry environment with at least 3 years in the field of reliability of electrical equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with Safety Management Systems.
Familiarity with Quality Management Systems.
Familiarity with Manufacturing Excellence models, systems and processes relating to asset capability and reliability.
Familiarity with Turnaround management systems.
Experienced in defining and upholding appropriate engineering standards to support World Class manufacturing.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
