is currently seeking an individual to become part of our company's Production Supervisory Team focused in the Washroom.
The ideal candidate should have the experience in managing a department with an employee population up to 15 people in a production manufacturing environment.
SCOPE:
Responsible for providing quantities of material of proper quality and at the proper time to meet demands of the finishing departments, namely flatwork, uniform, mats, and dry fold.
Reports to:
Operations Director Shift:
Evening - Approximately 12:
30PM- 10PM or close.
This person must have flexibility as closing time varies as business needs dictate.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a safe work practices for all employees in department and report all unsafe working conditions and/or equipment immediately to Safety Committee, Chief Engineer, and/or Operations Director Establishes daily wash schedule to ensure proper flow of materials to all finishing departments.
Monitors loading of washers to ensure that they are being properly loaded, minimizing risk of poor quality laundry.
Ensures that proper production records are maintained.
Continuously checks productivity of all washers, extractors, dryers, etc.
Ensures that head count for Department is always maintained at a proper level.
Shifts help when necessary to meet production schedules.
Checks equipment daily to ensure that it is in proper working order.
Coordinates production of his department with the demands of flatwork, mats, uniforms and dry fold departments.
Ensures that all personnel under his authority are properly trained to perform their duties in the best possible manner.
Maintains good housekeeping throughout his department.
Also follows company safety program and other prudent safety precautions.
Ensures that his department costs are in line with the department budgetary estimates.
Constantly seeks cost reduction methods that can improve upon this.
Make daily spot checks to test quality of a finished wash load.
Responsible for discipline and morale in his department.
Responsible for hiring, training and dismissal of all personnel reporting to him/her.
Responsible for staffing properly to obtain maximum results for given workload.
SKILLS:
prior manufacturing experience highly preferred Supervisory experience required Preferred production plant Supervisory experience preferably in a commercial laundry facility Computer intermediate or above preferred Bi-lingual a plus
